Hannah Mae Merten
Hannah Mae is an Advisor on CrossBoundary Advisory’s US Underserved Markets team. In the spirit of deepening her cross-sector urban leadership, Hannah Mae is pursuing a joint Master of Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School and an MBA at Harvard Business School, where she is focused on economic opportunity, housing, and climate. Prior to graduate school, Hannah Mae worked alongside catalytic investor Dan Gilbert on his life’s work: spurring opportunity and redevelopment in Detroit. Working with Gilbert as a special projects lead and Director of Urban Strategy and Innovation, Hannah Mae led a range of projects to drive equitable economic development in Detroit. In 2020 she was recognized as one of Crain’s Detroit Twenty in their Twenties for her leadership of a major public-private venture in Detroit’s innovation ecosystem. Hannah Mae attended the University of Denver as a Boettcher Scholar, where she earned her Master of Arts in International Development and Global Health from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, as well as her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish.
