The CARICOM Resilience Fund (CRF) officially launched today in Bridgetown, Barbados, in an event presided by Hon. Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados and U.S. Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the OECS, Mr. Roger F. Nyhus.

The launch of the CARICOM Resilience Fund is a milestone for climate resilience and economic sustainability across the Caribbean. Since January 2023, our team at CrossBoundary Advisory has been in deep collaboration with USAID and the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) to meticulously design, structure, and launch the CRF.

The CRF introduces a sophisticated tiered capital structure, starting with Junior Class C Shares designed to de-risk investments, offering up to 30% first loss protection. This critical feature encourages broader participation by mitigating potential risks for investors.

Senior Class A & B shares cater to both commercial and impact investors making it an attractive proposition for a wide range of investment profiles.

The fund prioritizes a balanced impact, allocating 70% of its resources to Official Development Assistance (ODA) countries within CARICOM, and up to 30% to non-ODA countries, ensuring widespread benefits across the Caribbean.

As we celebrate this launch, we look forward to the CRF unlocking new avenues for sustainable development in the Caribbean.
