Carla Whitehead

Carla is the Commercial Asset Director for the CrossBoundary Energy team and is based in Cape Town, South Africa overseeing the commercial aspects of the operating asset portfolio. Carla is a qualified Chartered Accountant and completed her articles at Deloitte which included a secondment to Deloitte San Francisco after which Carla returned to take up a role as audit manager at Deloitte Cape Town. During this time, Carla discovered an interest in the renewable energy sector and swapped assurance for corporate life and joined Acciona, a Spanish listed Group, in their Southern Africa Energy division. Carla worked over 10yrs in the Acciona Finance team, starting as group financial controller and later as group financial manager and finally as finance team lead in the South African REIPPP Programme. Carla has extensive experience in managing the Finance and Commercial Asset Management functions ranging from strategy, internal control, commercial negotiation and establishing best practises to drive profit realisation and business spend effectiveness.
