Kakule Jeannot

Plant Supervisor

Kakule Jeannot is an O&M Plant Supervisor at CrossBoundary Energy, based in the DRC. He brings over 10 years of experience in the energy sector, with deep expertise in solar mini-grids and utility-scale solar projects.

One of the pioneers of solar energy in the DRC, Kakule contributed to the implementation of the country’s first industrial solar power plant at the Bilingual Christian University of Congo (UCBC) in Beni in 2015, the largest off-grid solar mini-grid in sub-Saharan Africa in Goma in 2019, and the DRC’s first solar-hydropower integration projects with the Virunga and Nuru power plants in 2024.

Prior to CrossBoundary, Kakule served as O&M Manager at Nuru, where he oversaw the operation of hybrid solar power plants across Goma, Garamba/Tadu, and Faradje, and the key team member of the development of Kindu, Bunia et Goma 2 Hybrid solar power plant. He maintained technical performance above 98% across all plants and successfully integrated hydro, solar, BESS, and diesel generation systems. In his current role, he leads O&M activities for a 233 MWp hybrid solar power plant, with responsibilities spanning technical team coordination, PM and CM strategy, budget management, subcontractor oversight, and SCADA/CMMS-based performance monitoring.

Kakule holds a Bachelor’s in Industrial Electrical Engineering from the Higher Institute of Applied Techniques and Development of Beni (ISTA-D) and holds PMP® certification from PMI, as well as certification in PM and CM of Tesla Powerpack systems.
