Karen Mutema

Karen holds a Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from the University of Leeds and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the United States International University – Africa. Prior to joining CrossBoundary, she was an Associate with impact investor Bamboo Capital Partners for 2.5 years, working on debt and equity deals that drive financial inclusion across Africa. While there, Karen was responsible for deal origination, execution, monitoring, and exit. Previously, she was with Actis, a leading growth market investor, for 4.5 years based in Nairobi, where she worked across their Private Equity, Real Estate, and Energy funds. She also briefly worked with Aureos Capital assisting with portfolio management.
