Tombo Banda

Tombo is based in the CrossBoundary Nairobi office, where she leads CrossBoundary’s Mini-Grid Innovation Lab. Tombo holds an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London. She is a chartered engineer registered with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers UK. Prior to joining CrossBoundary, she worked as a Consultant in McKinsey & Company’s Addis Ababa office, where she advised clients in the public and social sector in Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, and Uganda.
