The Fund for Nature selected for the 2022 Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance
Voluntary carbon markets offer a growing opportunity for nature-based solutions to monetize carbon sequestration and secure long-term, reliable revenue streams that make projects more attractive for private investment.
However, the volume of capital flowing to nature-based projects is limited, relative to the size of the opportunity, as navigating carbon markets and securing financing is not easy, particularly for smaller projects in developing countries.
We are excited to team up with The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance to look at how project finance can unlock capital for nature-based solutions. CrossBoundary’s proposal is one of the 7 new climate finance ideas selected for the 2022 Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance, out of more than 150 global submissions.
The Lab is an investor-led, public-private initiative that accelerates innovative well designed, early-stage climate finance solutions and instruments.
