Engagement
Following earlier support through the USAID Haiti INVEST initiative, CrossBoundary Advisory was engaged again to assist Solengy in securing growth-stage capital from institutional investors. The mandate included strategic advisory and investor outreach to attract leading development finance institutions (DFIs) capable of anchoring a large-scale expansion.
Solengy Haiti is a success story supported initially through the USAID Haiti INVEST mandate which transitioned into a successful commercial client. This transaction builds on years of work to develop Haiti’s renewable energy sector, a market with enormous potential yet constrained by financing gaps.
Approach
CrossBoundary Advisory worked closely with Solengy’s leadership to define a compelling growth narrative and build robust financial and investment materials.
Specifically, the team:
- Conducted in-depth interviews with management to define Solengy’s business model and future growth trajectory
- Analyzed historical performance and conducted market research to benchmark future costs and growth assumptions
- Developed a financial model and pitch deck to forecast Solengy’s future performance and understand the competitive landscape, growth strategy, and value proposition
- Identified and pitched to potential investors, facilitating match-making meetings between the investors and the company in Haiti
- Advised Solengy during term sheet negotiations with DFIs and private investors
